RE CHECK of Osteoarthritis?

Hi Everyone. wondering if anyone has had this happen before. I was told a few weeks ago that the Dr's want to re check my Arthritis , I thought this was a very strange thing to say. why would they do this when I have been told Iv already got OA in Both Knees,

Its a Nightmare to even get an appointment at my Dr's let alone do another re check. also a few weeks back My OA was hurting very bad and I got given tablets for it. They made me Ill with in about an hour of taking them. ( They wanted me to take 4 a day! ) I only took one. They made me feel Woozy , Dizzy ext. so I managed to get a emergency appointment and was told not to take them. I already had stopped. now I am only allowed Paracetamol.

sometimes that doesn t do anything.

    Perhaps they want to see whether your knees have deteriorated far enough to need to see a consultant? Or they might offer physio or something now.

    Hopefully you can discuss medication with them. If they gave you co-codamol or tramadol something like that it can make you feel woozy when i first started on things like that i could only take it at night, but that was a help still. Also it's available in lower doses so you can build up.

    Anyway it's a good chance to have a chat about pain relief with them. I'd make the appt but if you can possibly take someone with you .

    JUST AN UPDATE on my post of a re check. It has taken me near on 3 months to try and even get anywhere with this. I seriously lost my temper with my Dr's recipionest last week. she gave me an appointment for Yesterday. I attended that. …….. but before that happened. I had broken a bone in my toe last week 3 days before I went to a wedding! I tripped over when I stubbed my toe. so this happened at the appointment. I cant get shoes on so went in wearing just my socks. The Dr said ok lets have a look at your foot! I said have you even read my notes. she said NO! I had to tell her what the appointment was even for. so after all that she examined my knees. said it will only get worse. I said yes I know that. can you tell me anything that I haven' t already been told. as my initial assessment for the arthritis was a year and have a ago. she said no…. then she said you can take co codomol. I said I cant take that it makes me ill. so then she wrote on the report I had REFUSED Codeine / cocodomol when i told her it makes me ill. I said refusal and a medication making me ill are 2 seperate things. It was just a totally wasted appointment waste of my time. i go back on Physio so I NEEDED this appointment yesterday AS ITS my Last appointment with my Physio next week.

    she said did I want a knee replacement. NO I DO NOT not at this stage. so she said about the injections. I said no to those as I do not like needles injections. so once again she said I had refused. when i pointed out I didn't want. I am at the point I give up. Iv seriously had enough. no one seems to be helping.
