Types of pain relief
I was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis in my left hip a couple of years ago. I've managed the pain fairly well with a few flare ups in between resulting in a call to the GP and additional pain meds prescribed. My normal meds are naproxen, amitriptyline and omeprozol.
10 days ago I was mopping up after a flood at my son's football club and know that I over did it (I'm my own worst enemy!). I'm currently taking codeine and paracetamol, in addition to my normal meds, to try to control the pain but it's not massive helping as it has previously.
I'm planning on calling the GP tomorrow to discuss but wondered if anyone had advice as to what they've been prescribed recently that has helped. Thanks

I have arthritis in my left hip, more or less bone on bone. I take a mixture of paracetamol and ibuprofen. I am on the list for a hip replacement as I cannot walk without a stick and the hip is not flexible at all. Are you not able to have surgery?
