X-Ray

hello ☺️ my first time here, I have just received the x-ray result in my NHS app and I’m surprised at the mild comment as the pain is horrendous 😳 it states : The Left hip joint demonstrates mild joint space loss throughout the joint and lateral acetabular osteophyte formation. Appearances are in keeping with mild OA. It also noted it showed OA in my spine that hadn’t been mentioned. I see the GP weds to discuss treatment.

  • This is the problem with the NHS app. Patients read their report without any knowledge of what they are reading and get angry , annoyed and frustrated before the appointment.

Mild only means mild damage visible on the xray. Nothing to do with level.of pain experienced.

The oa in spine is common finding with hip xray as it includes the lower spine. So no ones fault it hasn't been mentioned.

hi, I didn’t make me angry I was just surprised to see it 😉 but it was explained at the appointment. Also at the appointment the specialist explained it’s mild OA, but that doesn’t mean we say you’re not experiencing pain and I’m advised to give physio a shot before referral to orthopaedic surgeon and I’ll try anything at this stage🤓
