Knee replacement
I have added on here a few times how nervous I was at having my knee replacement , especially the local anaesthetic … I even wondered if I should have it done at all !
I have been home a week and it’s all over and what on earth was I so scared of .? ., I had a wonderful surgeon here on the Isle of Wight who made me feel so confident . All the staff were wonderful and I was h9me 8n 2 days .
I never felt a thing during the spinal anaesthetic and nothing during the op . After 2 hours back in the ward and everything coming round … terrible pain but with all the drugs and help I survived .
a week on and I’m a wizz on crutches and managing to get about . I can also stand well . Next step is staples out on Friday 😩
The hardest bit at the moment is sleeping at night … I am not in any pain now except if I move in wrong direction ; but can’t like sleeping on my back .. my bum and back suffers .
I know it’s a few months yet but upward and onward 👍

Hi @Jackian well done you!
I'm so glad you've posted because people come on here like you fearing it all and they can read this post (like they do the threads by our lovely 'hippies') and get some instant reassurance from someone who knows!
I hope you'll post again as things progress. I wonder if one of the mods can also 'tag your thread knee surgery or something like that🤔
Keep on going you are doing so well
