Rinvoq side effects

Hi everyone.

My name is Sanjay, I have been suffering from RA for the past 20 years.

I have recently been prescribed Rinvoq (Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor) And have big concerns about taking the medication due to the side effect. I understand all drugs will have side-effects.

Rinvoq side-effect are extreme. I was wondering if anyone else taking this medication and how they have found it ?

Hello @Sanj welcome to the online community

You have lived with RA for a number of years now and have recently been prescribed Rinvoq (upadacinitinib). I do not have personal experience of this particular medication and hope that we will find some one in our community who has taken this drug.

I attach some information about it and hope that it helps your understanding

    https://www.versusarthritis.org/about-arthritis/treatments/drugs/upadacitinib/

If you click on to the magnifying glass, top right and put in JAK or Rinvoq you will see some discussions from members which I hope you will find helpful.

We hope that you will let us know how you get on with this new medication,

    Best wishes

    Hi Sanj,

I myself have just been moved to Rinvoq (so will start in about 4 weeks) and share your concerns. But I was on Baricitinib (which is another JAK inhibitor) for 4 years ( until it stopped working in 2022) but until it stopped working, it was the best drug i have been on in the 16 years I have had RA. So I am willing to take the chance, as i had no problems with Baricitinib, and they are going to monitor my lipids every 2 months while on Rinvoq, so hoping if there are any problems, i will get fair warning.

Wishing you the best of luck with it xx
