Steriod injection/hip deterioration

I have dysplacia which has caused hip arthritis in both hips worse on right hip, I had an MRI in December showed a lot of degeneration and cysts. Had steriod injection in April and had some pain relief. This week the pain is very bad has got to the stage I can't walk. What I was wondering can the injection suddenly stop working? Can your hip degenerate quickly over short period of time 6 months ?

    Morning @Norny

Sorry to hear your concerns about hip degeneration and cysts.

I have had steroid injections in the past and find they relieve for a short time but overall no good for me.

The following link maybe of interest…..

Have you discussed concerns with your doctor/consultant since you had injection ?? Maybe worth a call to discuss for reassurance.

    Best wishes @Naomi33

I think, for those of us for wHom steroid injections do work (and they don't work for everyone) 6 - 12 weeks worth of relief is what they offer.

If you literally can't walk you should contact your health centre. They might sort out walking aids and exercises.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

@Naomi33 @stickywicket I am going to contact my Doctor tomorrow to see can he get me an appointment with my consultant as needing to use two canes it's so bad. I can't believe how bad it is. The steriod injection has worn off complete. Might ask about adaptions to help me.
