Positive anti ccp
Hey! I hope it's ok that I post here. I've had various pains and symptoms for years, I previously thought I may have fibromyalgia but the doctor said he didn't believe in it and wouldnt entertain the idea.
However, since having a baby in December some symptoms have really ramped up. I.e it now hurts to lift the kettle, open jars, my muscles (and me in general) get tired really quickly, brain fog etc.
A doctor finally listened to me and ordered a bunch of blood tests, they've come back abnormal and flagged up with my haemoglobin falling below the normal range, my iron is below normal, and my anti CCP is at 5.9 and therefore is marked as positive, as it says 0-5 is the normal range.
They also ran an ANA test, which says normal is 0 - 1 and I'm 0.9 so it's within range - but only just.
The situation now is that I have a month wait before I even have an appointment with a GP to discuss the results, then if they want to refer me to rheumatology god knows how long that will take. Did anyone else have to wait that long for just the GP appointment? And is my anti CCP only just high?
It also flagged up with high hba1c suggesting I'm high risk for developing diabetes, no idea if there's any link there!
(For reference, I'm 29 years old)

Hello @lisaaj94 and welcome to the Community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well.
I have been through similar to you with various blood results that I didn't understand. I checked my results through my GP's online service and it had a link to another NHS website that explained the results. I'm not sure if all GP online services do this. I also had a similar wait to speak to a GP.
Our website is a mine of information so do look at it. You might be particularly interested in:

Hi @lisaaj94
It's not on having to wait a month to discuss all this with your GP is it? I know it's not unusual these days but very wrong I agree. I hope you do see a good one who will do you an urgent referral to rheumatology.
Some women do develop inflammatory arthritises after they have a baby so the of the worsening of your symptoms could be relevant, but only a Dr can diagnose.
What i was going to say is that at least now finally you are getting some help and hopefully it won't be too long before you see someone who can really help you. Hang on in there and enjoy your baby ((()))
