Hi I am new. Does anyone zoom tonight? I feel a need to talk to real people
This has been such a devastating illness on my life but I am working hard to avoid another surgery. Chronic pain makes my usually optimistic self lower at times than I can believe. But I am not one to go down without working a programme that helps me stay up. MOSTLY it works. Life is good anyway, restrictions of mobility on a previously joyously active person, lots of weight gain, etc can't stop me from living my life to the full and always trying to lift the spirits of others, or help them if needed and if I can help, and my painting, writing, and exercise routine PT, all keep on the go. Plus family of course. Much to be grateful for. YET SOME MORNINGS, despite this, I wake in pain and panic and sob that I can't go on. My husband is terribly kind and helps me get through the morning low, moving onto a much more fulfilling life than being curled in a pain ball wwould have offered me.
I'd love to zoom with a group soon if you are up to it. Have a tea, just hear your story. LET ME KNOW!
Smiles,
Leah😄

Hello @GoldieSilver and welcome to the Online Community. We are friendly and supportive and you are now among new friends that can understand some of what you are going through.
I've put a couple of links in below which might be of help, but as regards meeting up via zoom this is not something we offer yet - though it is on our Wishlist here at Versus Arthritis as well. in the meantime you could see if there are any groups local to you, some meet in person as well as Online. Just put your postcode or town into the link on our website.
It is good to hear that you have a supportive husband, it really helps getting through the lows when you have family around you that understand.
Please keep posting and joining in on discussions. As I said you are among new friends - you just haven't connected with them yet.
Best wishes
Peter

Hi @GoldieSilver lovely to meet you!
Unfortunately there isn't a 'live' chat yet but hopefully one day. In the meantime take a look around and join in anywhere you fancy.
A small group of us are often to be found in Val's café this is the link:
I hope I have done it ok for the last comment made today. We just talk rubbish really about our cats family appointments and eat/drink virtual food. You would be very welcome if it might interest you.
Take care
Toni x
