New to group and arthritis
Hello everyone and thank you for letting me join this amazing group.
I have a under active thyroid, autoimmune immune disease which has now given me RA all over my body. I have been miss diagnosed for years and have finally managed to push for a referral. I have come through the infalamation stage for now but am still left with arthritis all over. I am currently taken naproxen and have just found out I have COVID
Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Leanne

Hi @Lan - Welcome to the community! We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well.
I can speak from personal experience on this, as I also have underactive thyroid and arthritis. Firstly, are you on medication for your thyroid? It's important to get that under control. Like me, you probably feel very tired and low on energy a lot of the time. I have attached a link on fatigue, and ways to help deal with it. Hopefully this is useful for you.
Hopefully now you have got a referral it won't be too long before you can see a specialist, who will help to put you on the right medication to deal with your pain.
If you need any more help, please feel free to ask.
Take care, Claudia x

Thank you for your response and that link Claudia, the information on fatigue will be a great help. I am on lethyroxine for my thyroid and my levels are under control at the moment.
With COVID do you think I need to let my doctor know. It's just like a heavy cold at the moment as the naproxen seems to be controling my immune response to the virus so I am grateful of that as it usually effects me really badly.
I hope your doing well?
Take care & best wishes

Hello @Lan
I would let your GP know you have Covid, they may not offer you anything but then again they might. I am not aware of the current guidelines for being eligible for Covid treatments though!
I also have Covid, hope you feel better soon.
best Joanne

Hello Lan.
welcome. I to have an under active thyroid, and have RA. I am sorry you have Covid. I started on Naproxen from my GP surgery, and a referral to the rheumatologist. My diagnosis took a good while, as my inflammatory markers were not high to start with, but I was in so much pain with my joints.Have you been referred yet? My tips would be to not overdo things, rest when you can. Take omeprazole whilst on Naproxen, as they can give you tummy upsets.
Hope you feel better soon.
