Lower leg ache and cramps.
Sorry to ask another question so soon…I have arthritis in my hip and arthritis both in the right leg. I have had a second steroid injection in my hip, which is helping my hip. BUT my knee is truly awful☹️ I am experiencing acing and cramping in my calf and toes on top of all the other symptoms, loss of mobility, aching, swelling, very difficult to get my leg completely straight…
Could the aching be due to the fact that I’m probably walking differently due to my arthritis, and so other muscles etc are complaining?
I’m due to see my consultant in 10 days for an injection follow-up. If I am offered surgery for a new hip, I’m going to say yes please, then hopefully my knee can be done soon after.
Im doing my best to stay as active as I can, watching my weight, walking as much as I can albeit slowly and very much reduce, plus swimming.

My knee OA causes pain in my calves and thighs, as well as the excruciating knee pain. Turning in bed or getting up off a chair has to be carefully so I don’t twist or wrench the knee joint, very ouchy! I’ve had a THR and now need knees done. An X-ray will show the degree of OA in your hip and knees. I was told by the Orthapaedic surgeon that they always do the hip first, then the knee when fully recovered.
