Newbie looking for getting up from chairs advice please.
Hello!
I've got hand and knee problems, and looking for advice on seating.
I can get up from my office chair ok, as it is at max height, but bus and train seats are too low, any suggestions for travel cushions?
I'm looking into a raised seat for the loo too - there's no space for grab rails at home.
(I'm both tall and fat, although working on the latter!)

Hi @HollyTree , sorry to hear that you're experiencing this - unfortunately I cannot give any solid advice on products to buy (hopefully someone else can come along and give some). I've attached some links for exercises which obviously will not solve the problem but may make it easier, however everyone is different and only a physiotherapist will be able to advise what works for you.
Have you contacted your Local Authority for mobility aids to support you in the process between sitting and standing? You may be able to get some equipment for free from them and they'll be able to recommend what aids would be useful for you. It differs from area to area but my physio was able to refer me - I've again attached a link below which may provide more help.
