    Hi Nicola

I started a Nuffield course earlier this year, with high expectations. I have lived with widespread OA for 30+ years and was hoping to learn new coping strategies and exercises to aid my diminishing mobility. After attending for five weeks (10 sessions) I was disappointed and withdrew, leaving space for a.n.other to join the group.

Most participants, though, were clearly finding it beneficial so mine is a very personal response, not helped by the fact that I didn't develop a rapport with the leader, also had a 30minutes drive to the venue. (I attended a similar NHS course in the 1990s which was excellent so may have been making inappropriate comparisons.)

If/when you get the chance I would definitely give it a try, especially if you have done no other pain management course and are at a relatively early stage of your journey with arthritis. We are all different so nothing suits everyone and there is nothing to lose by joining the programme.

I don't know you so can't comment on how you will respond. much also depends on the course leader and I would say 'Give it a try - there is nothing to lose.' 😄

    Hi @crinkly

Hope you don't mind me messaging, but thought I'd reach out just in case you weren't aware of our face to face sessions so you could explore and see if there is anything in your area England | Versus Arthritis.

We offer Chi-Me courses, seated yoga as well as some other social groups.

    Best wishes

    Louisa
