Antivirals
Just to give others the heads up - I tested positive for covid on Tuesday morning so phoned the GP for a telephone appointment. GP phoned late afternoon and thought that I was only wanting advice about what to do about my meds (25mg methotrexate weekly and 200mg hydroxychloroquine daily). When I pointed out that it was to get advice about whether or not I needed antivirals (as per NHS website!) initially he was 'oh I don't know if the team is still in place'. To be fair, a couple of minutes after finishing the call had a text saying that I had been referred to the covid medicines unit and had a call from them about 20mins later. They quickly prescribed antivirals which were ready for a friend to collect for me the next morning.
Hope this helps others

hi does anyone have experience of antivirals. have got covid for the first time!! but symptoms are mild-ish and wondering if worth taking antivirals (ie side effects - impact on biological infusions etc)

I would suggest speaking to your GP and then if necessary they can refer you to the covid medicines unit - who will be better placed to answer your questions! (I wasn't on any biological infusions. I took them as they reduce the chance of becoming seriously unwell/hospitalised with covid)
