I had steroid injections in both knees 5 days ago and am still in a lot of pain , I presume this is the flare. How do I know if the injections are going to work? When does the pain usually stop?
Hi @Trumpy and welcome to the online community,
I’ve never had a steroid injection so I can’t speak from experience, but I understand that there are several types of steroid injection in use depending upon your condition, some of which take effect almost immediately and others which take longer. As you say, sometimes you can have a flare up after your injection, although these usually only last a couple of days. Are you able to speak to your GP or whoever gave you the injection to find out more?
Here’s some more information about steroid injections that you might find useful:
