Hi @anxioussarah - I know you can buy compression socks in pharmacies and also in the airport.

Perhaps someone else can advise you on specific brands that are best.

    Two things

    1. Where are you flying to? My surgeon told me no long haul fligjts for six months.
    2. Get medical advice on fhe suitability of compression socks. There are arguments for and against and best to get it right so soon after a THR.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

  • @anxioussarah They are easy to buy but not so easy to get on and off!! I don't wear compression socks for short haul flights but I have just googled it and it seems it is advisable to wear them for any flight after a hip op. It is only in recent years that I have worn for long haul flights and spent about 10 minutes in the toilets in Sydney airport trying to get them off.

I think I was also told no long haul for about 6 months but short haul (6 hours or less) is OK after 3 months.

Where are you going? Enjoy your holiday.
