Comfort when sitting use of gel cushions.
I am currently on the waiting list for two new hips as I developed Avascular Necrosis following steroid treatment. My pelvic bones were also affected. I can only walk with the aid of crutches or a trolley but I can get out and about. The problem is when I sit. The pain is excruciating and prevents me from going to Cafes, restaurants, theatre etc. Travelling in the car is OK for short journeys only. I have seen on line some gel cushions and I wondered if anyone else has purchased these and if they have been of any use. Any of your experiences would be gratefully accepted.

Hi @DottyLambeth nice to meet you. So sorry to hear about your AVN. My daughter has it too due to chemo with steroids dexamethasone. For her it was left hip and right shoulder (and long bones too) which has now been replaced when she was 19. I do hope you won't wait too long for your replacements
I've got a wedge cushion which is for my back. I think you can get them as gel cushions too. Really it has to be worth a try to improve your quality of life mine didn't cost a fortune.
Good luck
Toni xx
