MRI results

Hi everyone

I haven't posted before, but have had osteoarthritis for about 40 years..first in fingers and toes, which are now OK,but now the worst thing is it's in my spine..cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions.Ive had various MRIs over the last 15 years or so but I've now had a total spinal MRI.

I'm wondering what else I can do apart from exercise, physio, warmth and rest.15 years ago a specialist said I would need surgery, but I'm really not keen to go down that pathway

I get very frustrated as it would seem if I do nothing then I'm not in pain, but as soon as I try having a 'normal' day then I pay for it the next day .

    Hello @Lizzie

I haven't seen your name on the board for a good while. I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with your spinal arthritis.

If I've read right you have just had an MRI but haven't yet got the results? Who referred you I wonder if it was a consultant then they might have opinions about what you could/should try next.

A GP might refer you there if it was your GP.

I have had surgery on my back and although the recovery was very very hard lengthy and painful i do not regret it now.

Sending you some ((())) and hope the results show something which can be treated.

    Take care

    Toni x

Thank you Toni.It was the health centre physio who referred me,so I'm hoping he will have some.more ideas. In my mind surgery would be the last resort..I refused it 10 years ago, perhaps there are newer less invasive treatments now.

    Toni,

you mention your spinal surgery and say that you are now pleased you had it .Does that mean you are now out of pain?
