Memory foam mattress topper

Has anyone any advice on buying one of these. I thought I might try one before buying a new mattress as I am not sleeping too well with the aches and pains. Thank you

    We bought a silent night one from argos Silentnight Impress Memory Foam 7cm. It wasn't cheap but it is comfortable.
