Strictly speaking, no. All soft cheeses are more liable to harbour bacteria so those of us who are immunosuppressed are best avoiding them. Having said that, blue stilton is my very, very rare treat but I do treat it with the utmost respect, keeping it in the fridge always ànd making sure I observe '-use by' and, in this case, 'best before' dates.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi @Jem26 . I take methotrexate and have eaten both Philadelphia and yoghurt (though not live) with no ill effects.
My understanding is that it is the live or unpasteurised ones that you need to be wary of because they contain bacteria which is not a good thing when you are immuno-suppressed.
It would be interesting to know what other community members think.
Please note that, although I am a moderator I'm writing this as my own personal experience not as a recommendation from Versus Arthritis.

Hi Mary thank you so much conflicting information it’s hard enough coping with the disease without having to now think of which foods to avoid, I have lived with psoriasis since I was 18 which then developed into arthritis at 40. I am in my 60’s now and really just want some respite from it all. So I am grateful to hear from others and how they cope.☺️x

Hi Jem. I know how you feel. Coping with conflicting information and confusion as well as the RA - it's not easy.

Hi @Jem26
I think @MaryL44 is correct - anything unpasteurised shouldn't be eaten. I was given a list of things I shouldn't eat when put on methotrexate and adalimumab. It included :-
Unpasteurized milk and dairy products, such as soft cheeses like brie and camembert, blue cheeses, feta, and goat cheese. Parmesan is unpasteurised.
Pâtés and meat spreads.
Undercooked beef, chicken and fish.
Undercooked eggs including fresh mayonaise.

Thank you Jamie I wasn’t given a list of what to avoid so finding everyone’s comments really helpful I love feta and Brie which is a shame but tend to have as a treat so will find an alternative. I don’t think you realise how much your condition affects your daily life, and now have to re think what I eat.
Very grateful for your reply take care 😊
