hi, I’m new to this and didn’t realise it was here but pleased now I know. :) I have arthritis everywhere but at the moment my spine is the worse. I fell off a horse in my 20s. I’m now 69 and it’s really started playing me up the last 10 years. I bought some stuff to rub in but I can’t reach the whole area and no one to do it for me.Wondering if anyone has any tips. Thanks in advance. Debra.

Sorry to hear your concerns about your spine and pain at the moment.

    Hi @Trestababy

I use a variety of things for my back when I'm struggling. Yes gels are good but you do need help applying them. You can buy long handled lotion applicators would that help? I also used to take anti-inflammatories which I can't anymore (due to other meds) as well as painkillers. I have a tens machine, but most of all I love my microwavable wheatbag. If that helps a lot you can buy heat patches from any supermarket which stick on which makes the heat usable when you are out and about.

Have you checked in with your Dr at all about your back Debra sometimes there is the option of injections/physio.

    Take care

  • Thank you for the comments. I’ve been offered injections but don’t want to go down that route unless I’m absolutely desperate. The spray sounds good. I’ve never heard of or seen the heat pads. I’ll ask in Superdrug. I’ve also had two hips replaced which was a godsend.

    Hello @Trestababy

I use an electric plug in pad at home, it's a wonder. Mines a brand called dreamland from boots. worth every penny.
