Help?
hello everyone, I’m in a pickle.
In May I had gastric surgery which means I cannot take NSAIDs.
2 weeks into my recovery, I sustained a double fracture to my foot.
A week later my big toes was excruciatingly painful. I thought I’d injured it by walking on my heel and over extending my toe. I queried gout with the team.
I was ignored for weeks by the T&O team, the GP nurse said I needed physio and it was only when I got to the very expensive PT that he advised me with the back of a podiatrist that he thought I had gout. My blood was tested and my uric acid levels were very high.
All in all, I had about 8 weeks of undiagnosed gout.
I e now had 5 days of steroids and a half dose of colchicine for 3 days. My toes are still so sore, stiff and wake me up.
My mood is so low and the rehab for my broken foot is suffering.
Does anyone know how long it can take for this pain to subside?
I’m petrified they will want to stick a needle in my joint…does it hurt a lot 😭
