Not yet diagnosed
I am fairly sure I have some sort of Arthritis, which Is getting worse. Symptoms are pain and weakness in my thumbs which has caused me to nearly drop things (for example the kettle) pain in my wrists and shoulders. I've had pains off and on for years in my knees. My question is, is it advisable to get a diagnosis from my GP, if he's only going to tell me to take pain killers?
🙂
With thanks
Carol

Hi it's best to get checked out by your GP. They will be able to let you know what arthritis you have and sort out pain management with you. Hope it all works out of you.

Good morning @carolcassa and welcome to the online community.
Yes definitely think you should see your doctor and find out if and what form of arthritis you have and how to manage it. Either with exercise or medication.
The following links shows exercises which maybe of interest….
I am sure others will connect with you soon.
Best wishes @Naomi33

Request a blood test via your GP. The sooner you are on medication the better. Most importantly - stay positive if you do get a RA result. It can be overwhelming when you are first diagnosed as there is so much information on the web and not all of it is trustworthy. Versus Arthritis will be there for you with sound advice and friendly support - good luck!
