Pain Management Clinic
Has anyone been referred to a Pain Management Clinic? I was referred 4 months ago and have my first telephone appointment with them in a couple of weeks. Just wondering what to expect as my doctor seems to think I've tried most options in terms of medication and self-help (pacing/exercising/swimming etc). I'm hoping it's not going to be a suggestion of going to groups for chit-chat, as I have an anxiety disorder which means I'm not good at going out, even more so if it means mixing with people I don't know.

I was referred to a pain clinic years ago, met a very nice lady who gave me a Tens machine. I found this unreliable because it was so hard to control. I think the modern ones are probably better so that might be an option. Overall I found it a bit of a waste of time. You know your own body and what you are capable of. I suggest persevering with any exercise you can manage, (if only a little), try to eat healthily and know you are not alone. I do not cope with chit chat with strangers either, in fact it would make me run a mile (if only 🥴). Good luck. I hope you get some help🤞😊
