Psoriatic Arthritis high blood counts
hi there I was diagnosed with PsA in November 2022
I have the regular monthly blood tests as I’m on methotrexate but the last three months my platelet count and my basophil count has been rising above the normal ranges
Is this common?

hello, my bloods are all over the place I am told by my consultant that it’s part of the disease process. I have been on max methotrexate and Sulfasalazine for 18months it’s helped with my psoriasis but the Psa joint is just as bad. Take care

I have PsA. My last blood test did actually show a high? platelet count, I can see my results on my GP practice app which gives an acceptable range. In my case I was outside the range but, the Medic didn’t think this was remarkable, so no action was taken. I am keen to monitor this myself however.

I've also have PsA which was diagnosed in 2020. I've also had a couple of blood issues over this time - though it's been low blood counts with me. I've had anaemia, vitamin D deficiency and now cholesterol issues even though I have a very good diet. Like @Kevin123456 my doctor has suggested it's partly the disease - though some of the treatments for it can also cause these results.
