OA

Hi everyone :-) I am new to this group. I have had OA in my left knee for a good few years now, but the last year I have been diagnosed with it in both my hands and now my foot, I am also waiting to see if I have it in my right knee too. I have found that the injections help a lot better than pain killers from the dr. I also have carpal tunnel in my right hand and a trigger thumb! I feel like I'm falling apart!

Is it natural to have days when you are so tired and have no energy?

@KarenJC I was tired and achey long before arthritis, and it has just kept on going worse.

I still become so whacked out that I kind of stop. Brain switches off in the middle of writing this post and I just want to go lie down.

I have noticed though, the difference between tiredness and fatigue. If fatigue sets in it affects more than just feeling tired, I lose motivation, feeling productive and creative becomes feeling numb and uncaring. This is perhaps a worse condition than tired, and needs a recovery back to feeling ok.

Morning @KarenJC and welcome to the online community.

Sorry to hear your concerns about OA and falling apart.

Sadly personally having days of no energy and tiredness are part of the condition to in my experience. I work with one day on and usually two to recover on a bad flare up 🤷‍♂️ but everyone different.

If possible keep a diary and take photos to show your doctor your joints at the worst. This helped me through proving it to them as a good day looked normal (ish) !!

Best wishes and keep posting I am sure others will connect.
