Hi everyone, I’m taking 3 x methotrexate and 4 x predistone steroid for a recent flare up and hospital stay. I’m booked for a Covid 19 and flu next week and have conflicting opinions on whether to have them or to wait. Would like your opinion or experiences please 🙏

    Hello EllyP

Neither Covid vaccines nor flu vaccines are "live", they are both safe to have. I had a Covid booster in spring, when I was on Methotrexate and Prednisolone and had no side effects. Didn't have Rheumatoid Arthritis this time last year so haven't yet had a flu jab while on these medications but have been assured (by medical staff) it is quite safe and I am booked in for both jabs next month. I have no concerns there. And having had flu once, many, many years ago, I NEVER want it again - it was dreadful. So I always take the jab when it's offered!
