COVID autumn booster and Cosentyx/Methotrexate
Hi everyone, I know this question has been already asked in the passed. I'm having the COVID/FLU booster vaccine in mid October and I have Ankylosing spondiloarthritis, I'm taking methotrexate and biological treatment (Cosentyx Secukinumab monthly injections). My question is should I pospone these after the COVID flu vaccine to make sure it will be efficient? I know Versus arthritis recommends to do so but only if your rheumatho has told you to do so. I'm finding extremely difficult to get in touch with my rheumatologist so here again in limbo wandering what is the option! I would be interested to know what other people with the same condition have been advised to do. With many thanks. 🙏

Hi @pianoforte
I take sulfasalazine, MTX and the biologic adalimumab. I was told to have a 2 week break in my MTX after the covid booster as per the VROOM study of 2022. When I asked my rheumatologist about whether I should have a break of the other drugs she said there was no evidence that they caused a reduction of efficacy of the covid booster but as I was stable I could choose to do so if I wanted to.
