Morning @davehose
Welcome to the online community. I see you are having pain in your foot 8 weeks after your hip replacement. I am presuming that you have already seen your consultant for your post operative check up. You may be seeing a physiotherapist if you are yet to see either of these perhaps a word with them might be an idea.
None of us here are medically trained, but many of our members have had hip surgery particularly this year. Hopefully one (or more than one) might be along to share their own experience with you. You can read some of their threads which have been incredibly supportive if you take a look here:
@Nurina @Janlyn @alwayssewing @KC1 and @Trish9556 to name but a few.
My best wishes
Ellen.

@davehose It would be a good idea to get it checked out. Swelling isn't unusual, it takes 12 weeks for the hip to be healed from the operation itself. It heals from the outside in . Put your feet up as often as you can during the day. Nerve pain also isn't unusual and should go away over time but as always there is a small percentage of people who have it go on for longer. Talk to your physiotherapist too as they can help. You are still in the early stage of recovery.

Knees and ankles need to adapt to the new posture and situation so slight swelling and pain aren't uncommon after walking or exercising.

@davehose as the others have said it is a good idea to get it checked out by your physio. Pain in my foot isn't something I remember but I did have swelling. It was a few weeks before I could get my shoes/boots on properly without having to loosen laces. I did have various pains in my legs and hip area as my muscles strengthened and I started to walk more - sometimes overdoing it.
Take care, and let us know how you go on.

Swelling is normal. You’ve had major surgery and you will have some swelling and weird electrical twinges in your surgery site, or I did! I do remember having a “fat foot” for a while. If you are worried then speak to your GP, Physio or Consultant. Have you had your follow up appt yet?
