    Hi @Shamus1,

I can’t speak from personal experience, but I’ve just had a look at the Versus Arthritis website for the symptoms of PSA and it does mention itchy skin as a possible skin. I wonder if this is the sensation you’re feeling? It would be worth checking it out with your GP or rheumatologist. Here’s the link to the page if you want to have a look:

    hi anna

Thanks for taking the time to reply , doesn’t look like the symptoms I’m having unfortunately, I’m making appointments with gp tomorrow

    Thanks again

  • Hi Shamus1,

Before being diagnosed I had a 'pins and needles' numbing and stabbing feeling in all my fingertips and occasionally my toes if that makes any sense and i couldn't hold cutlery or writing materials very well. To alleviate the pain I wore compression gloves with copper wire wound into them which did help.

You mentioned issues in your groin area, mine felt like the Chinese burns kids give each other at school.

Once I was put on MTX the issues disappeared pretty quickly. I think it's the tendons which attach to the bones which inflame and cause the weird pain/sensations as i believe Psa is predominantly a tendon/ligament inflammation disease

I hope you had some joy with the GP.

    Hi @Shamus1

Yes, I had tingling really bad in my hands, actually very very painful, they thought it was carpal tunnel. I had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands, then when symptoms didn’t resolve I had ultrasound that helped confirm my PsA diagnosis (amongst other things).

I did challenge whether my carpal tunnel surgery was necessary and I got a vague answer that says whilst I presented with severe carpal tunnel symptoms, the cause may have been the PsA. The pain was worse in the mornings and at night - if I hung my arms off the bed to the floor it did help a little
