Adalimumdab and Methotrexate
Do you stop above biologics for the week you have flu vaccination and Covid booster vaccination. I am trying to work out the best way to do this . I inject methotrexate weekly (Saturday) and adalimumdab every other week (Wednesdays). Thanks for any advice would be grateful.

Hi @Teapot . By coincidence I've just had that conversation with my rheumatology nurse. She has advised me to leave it approximately a fortnight from taking methotrexate and having the flu and covid vaccines.
Sorry I can't help with adalimumdab because I don't take that.
Hope this helps

There was a study done in 2022 called the VROOM study - Vaccine Response On/Off Methotrexate done on behalf of NHS Health Research Authority which recommended a 2 week pause of methotrexate AFTER the covid vaccine. Like you I'm on both MTX and adalimumab and asked my rheumatologist about taking adalimumab and she suggested that since my disease was stable I could delay my biologic injection for 2 weeks afterwards though she did say there was no guidance on this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I will put a call into my rheumatologist as well but your replies gives me a guideline. With the methotrexate missing a week is not too much a problem for me as I was told by my GP when we all had the first COVID jab to treat it like I am on antibiotics so leave it off for a week. He also said there were no guidelines and that was a few years ago so I am surprised there still does not seem to be any guidelines. Thanks again and if I get any information I put put on here. Have a good day,

Good Evening
I spoke to rheumatology nurse today and she said to miss one week of methotrexate when I have flu jab and leave a couple of weeks and have Covid booster on the week I do not inject with adalimumdab as I only inject this every other week. I am happy to do this so will go ahead. Thanks again for all advice.
