Newly diagnosed with Osteoarthritis

HI everyone. I have had joint issues for a while. Finally, it was confirmed as Osteoarthritis in my knee. Have a 2 week wait to discuss management options. What do people do diet wise that will help ease symptoms.

Good morning @Dutch50 welcome to the online community.
I see from your post that you have recently been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis (OA) and are looking at how to help yourself with your diet.
This is the Versus Arthritis information on the subject:
I wonder whether thsi might be of interest to you too?
Best wishes
Ellen.

Hi @Dutch50 nice to meet you.
I think with knees weight management is really vital, but if that's not an issue for you I am pretty sure versus arthritis recommends the Mediterranean diet. Probably mentioned in that link Ellen gave you.
Personally I am vegan avoiding all animal products try to 'eat the rainbow' as they say and avoid ultra processed foods as far as possible.
I don't take any supplements for my arthritis I tried quite a few in the early days with no noticeable improvements, but others here have had some success with them.
The other thing I do is to exercise daily like it or not because I believe strong muscles and tendons help keep our joints protected.
Anyway as i said nice to meet you any questions do ask.
Take care
Toni x
