Timing to start azathioprine advice
Hi all, this may well be a 'how long is a piece of string' question but here goes….
After resisting medication for some years (in part because the Rheumatologist isn't 100% sure whats wrong with me!) we have finally agreed that I am going to give azathioprone a go. I am anxious about possible side effects etc but feel that it is the right next step for me. Actually getting started has been a bit of a nightmare for various reasons but I finally have the first months tablets. However, I am due to go away for on 25th/26th Oct travelling back on 27th. It is the first chance I have had to do something for me for a very long time and I would hate it to be ruined by side effects!! Does anyone have any experience of side effects and how long they last (alot of the literature says about 2 weeks then they settle down). I'm wondering whether to delay by ten days as a precaution. Anyone have any wise words to help guide me?! Many thanks 😊

Hi @masonsgrange how is the medication going? Hope you got away and it went OK.
Here is some information that might be helpful (sorry it is a bit late)
Best wishes
Peter
