Hi,

New to group . I’m 62 and after paying for private physio for a few sessions and not getting better . Went GP . Neck x ray and diagnosed mild osteoarthritis in neck . Struggling to turn to right. Got exercises to try from video call with hospital. They hurting to do . Waiting actual appointment to have hands on physio. Putting on randomly heated wheat bag . Just been prescribed paracetamol. Not working . Feel little light headed , dizzy when walking which is scaring me. I don’t drive or work but volunteer in art gallery where I obviously need look up at paintings. Also book lover . Any advice reading comfortably? Thanks

I do have occasional neck pain but have not been diagnosed with arthritis in my neck so I do understand how you feel. I find exercises and stretching do help. When you saw your GP did you mention the dizziness? Maybe you need to go back and discuss that. The number for our Help Team is at the end of this message. You may want to contact them for advice.

Also, our community members will have vast experience so keep checking back here for their responses.

Please keep posting now you are here and let us know how you are getting on.

    I have cervical spondylosis @LH18

    Not nice is it?

I would struggle sometimes to look up at a painting. Can you step further away from the paintings at all?

Using a Wheatbag is a great idea. I love mine more than anything and have one on my neck right now!

I read too I use my kindle because it's light for my hands some people have bean baggy things to prop them or their books on and have them on trays/tables at the correct height.

I hope you get your physio soon

    Take care
