Good afternoon all

It has been a while since I posted; over the last 9 months I have been struggling with pain in my right elbow with numbness in my little and ring fingers. I have now had an xray and it looks to be osteoarthritis (the same that I have in my neck and right shoulder)

I have tried using Splints; OTC medication and prescription medication but none of this works. I am waiting on an appointment back on the orthopedic hospital, but was wondering if anyone had any further advice whilst I wait

Many thanks x

Hi. It sounds like cubital tunnel syndrome. I had this in my left elbow. I had an ulnar nerve transposition last year. Symptoms were pain at the elbow, numbness and tingling in the ring and little finger, and weakness in the hand. I was referred to a neurologist for various issues including numbness in my hands, legs. Through this referral I had tests done which confirmed ulnar neuropathy. I'm still having the same issues despite the operation, I've been told it can take a while for symptoms to improve, if at all. The only thing I found helped slightly was wearing an elbow splint at night to relieve pressure on the ulnar nerve at night.hope this helps.

    Hi @Lizziejayne53

Just in case you haven't already seen this:

I hope you'll let us know how you get on after your visit to the orthopaedic hospital.

    Best wishes

    Ellen.

  • @DODGYKNEES - thank you; I did have tests for Carpal Tunnel but these came back ok. I also think I did have some tests for Cubital Tunnel. My xray results have come back which shows osteophytes; just waiting on call back from my GP.

@Ellen - thank you for the information

    xx
