Hi there everyone

As I’m now diagnosed with Os in both knees I have researched loads of different aids like Magnetic straps ,Bamboo Sleeves and Infa red machines.

Has anyone found anything that REALLY works or are they all a bit of a gimmick

Please share any positive thoughts

Hi @Christof61 . I also have osteoarthritis in both knees. There are some very good knee braces and supports about. I find compression sleeves help. I tried a lot of different braces, the best one I have is an unloader brace given to me by the NHS. I had to be measured for the right fit in one of my appointments. It does help. Sometimes you get what you pay for as far as purchasing braces from online. Donjoy braces are very good quality. Hope this helps

    Hi @Christof61

I've read a number of medical papers that suggest the use of a knee brace can be helpful and can in some cases avoid the need for knee replacement. However I think you would need consult your orthopaedic doctor on whether it would be beneficial to you. There are so many possible braces on the market for different conditions I think you need some medical advice as to whether one would work for your condition. I'm on a 2 year waiting list for knee replacement. I'm currently seeing a NHS physio who has given me muscle strengthening exercises to do daily and they are helping. I wear a stretch elasticated knee support which helps.
