Ankle fusion or replacment
hi all , I’m new to this group and have suffered for arthritis in my feet for 15 years, I’m now 57 , hairdresser and down to 2 alternate days to rest in between … I’m also playing golf and walking dog . I’ve been told in need potential 4 operations on my feet .
the right foot a partial fusion and big toe cleaned out
Left leg full fusion or replacement and big toe cleaned out!
I manage at the moment with ibroprophen and radion B … but have lost lots of fitness and strength due to pain and lack of mobility, also confidence …
At the moment I’m on the waiting list , but have no idea which operation I should do first !
also I would like to hear from people with ankle replace t and how did it go, recover length and long term affects of how they are doing ….
Thankyou sara

Good morning @sarajscott welcome to the online community.
This question does come up quite regularly not frequently but regularly so I did you a quick search so you could read relevant posts:
@wendybird posted recently about ankle fusion so maybe you could support one another.
As for the question of which surgery to do first I would personally take the advice of your consultant they will have seen all of this before hopefully they can help you decide what to prioritise.
I imagine you have been given information about ankle fusion/foot surgery, but I am just popping this in in case it's of use:
My best wishes Sara I do hope you'll decide to keep posting and let us know how you get on.
Ellen.
