Just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Has shown up in knees on xray but feeling it in every joint.

Came on rapidly, starting in summer.

Suspected rheumatoid or fibromyalgia.

I'm a teacher and mum to a young child. Very shocked and scared.

Hello @creakymcjointface welcome to the online community.

You had posted this to your 'wall' I hope it's ok that I've moved it over here so people see it and may respond to you.

I can see from your post how shocked and frightened you are by the sudden onset of symptoms. Feeling as you do is really so normal so much that Versus Arthritis put this together for people newly diagnosed:

I hope you are gong to see a consultant soon to establish which type of arthritis you have.

I'll leave you now to hear from some of our members

    Best wishes

    Ellen.

    Hello Hello

Like you, I am a teacher too and likewise RA happened to me really rapidly. (Diagnosed seronegative RA since end July) - 1st flare up/inflammations start: mid June and evolved into different body parts as days followed the clock forward in time.

Yes, likewise I had to recognise "a shock". To do with a "very unexpected transition", a "sudden" new relationship with own evolving life, the journey of 1 human being through time on Earth landing overnight into another type of reality/living on Earth....and that is for all human beings, each a unique journey while alive.

Here: I opted for a refusal to be scared. I located own energy into adaptations and still busy which that. Busy trying to physically hurt less, busy working out how to teach again with what I have instead of what I had (adaptation: before RA/&now RA).

All still in the making as yet meditations have not resolved all the many pains located in multiple parts of body. It is a journey. 6-5 months into it, it is still very young into this unexpected exploratory path & off course still somehow researching/finding a more stable something to build on whatever next with an understood form of stability.

Just that adaption is the only way forward - up bit.

Any other paths is felt as adding more pain to pain, no thank you.

Gentle may one be towards others and own self.
