Took my 4th methotrexate injection today but annoyingly for some mad reason I forgot to wait for the 2nd click on the injection. I think I just forgot (goodness knows why?) when I lifted the injection up from my thigh I found a little pool of the drug sitting on my skin!! I’ve absolutely no idea if any of the drug managed to get injected but now I have to wait until next week again to try again. Normally so good with doing it correctly, just wondering if anyone else has ever messed up by accident?? 😡😥

    Hello Hello

I noticed no one replied to you. New on this site here. But I'd like to share with you so that you feel gentle. We are humans and as such we sometime get it wrong. What's nice is that when we get it wrong and notice, it helps us to get it right thereafter.

I'm also quite new to injection, 2 weeks doing it alone & prior 3 was with someone in hospital, time to arrange own home delivery details.

One thing I registered, hospital person said: clear any fluid left after injecting very gently/location focused, do not smudge. As fluid can create rush/irritating skin for some.

Also, when we get ill we need to stop Methotrexate so to rebuild our own immune system so that it can fight against whatever bug is making us ill, so missing 1 week (or+) of Methotrexate is on this sort of agenda.

That actually happened to me once, 3rd week of Methotrexate oral intake was missed-ill with a cold. It made no difference, nothing changed whatsoever with where I was at with RA living&daily symptoms&all the rest RA own experience.

However each of us RA are unique. So that is just my own me story.

I just hope you might find something gentle in this reply.

yes! I did exactly this with an Adalimumab! It was late one evening so now I do it the mornings generally. So you’re not the only one ! Easy done

Hi @Jca I have messed up a few times with my methotrexate injections even though I have been doing them for about a year. I the very anxious and nauseated about the fact that I have to inject myself every week. For some reason these feeling have never gone away for me and have caused me to inject incorrectly.

We are all human and we can mess up from time to time. So don't let it get to you if you do. Sharing your story's and talking to people about it is helpful.

I had my diagnosis 4 years ago and I have only just built up the courage to join this community and be open with others about my condition. Something I should have done years ago.

    Hope you're OK.
