I’ve recently started on this for my relapsing polychondritis after waiting 6 months for my specialist to confirm the diagnosis by constant obs of my symptoms.
those that know me on here will recal my posts of migraine city in the café on a regular basis before i left somewhat abruptly due to a third party.
week one of mtx was okay I felt a lot better and had a week free of migraines for the first time in 4 years.
this week having taken 7.5 mg on Tuesday i feel terrible with a marked shortness of breath. I’ve had to take extra anti inflamms just to be able to get some air in my lungs.

Has anyone else suffered this side effect??Will it pass or do i need to get myself to the docs please??

Sorry to hear your struggling @Skinny Keef

meth affects everyone differently. im on 20mg for around 23 years and never had any affects except form the odd nausius feeling for a few hours.

as your on 7.5 i would say first ring your rhumatology helpline (if your hospital has one) to speak to a boiologic nurse or ring your GP for an urgent appointment as shortness of breath must not be overlooked.

hope they sort you out soon.

    Hello @Skinny Keef

I agree with @MrDJ , best to get to talk to someone about the shortness of breath, maybe try 111 if your GP can't help?

    thanks for the replies.
i sent an email to my specialist’s secretary and he phoned me this morning. By which time I was much better and breathing almost back to normal.
He has instructed me to stick to 5mg for the next couple of weeks. I am due back in January for a check up.
i had a very important delivery this morning at 09:00 that I needed to meet in person otherwise I would have probably gone to A&E at 3am.
    again thanks for the replies.
