Methotrexate
Hi everyone, I have ankylosing spondiloarthritis and I'm have monthly biologic injection treatment , I've been taking 22.5mg methotrexate weekly. But, as I had some ALT abnormalities on my previous blood test, I was told by the rheumathology advice nurse to stop taking them for 2 weeks then do an other blood test, which I've done and all was normal. It was probably the COVID vaccin and a bad cold that triggered the a normality.
However, as I've not been taking methotrexate for 3 weeks and not feeling worse nor better, I just wonder of the use of taking these toxic tablets. They cause me nausea every time I take them!
I wonder if anybody else has experienced this. I know I need to ask advice from the rheumathology dept but unfortunately didn't get any response yet.

My previous specialist in London (Jenny W) wouldn't put me on that as I drink, now back home in Southampton, they are trying to cut me down to 200mg hydroxycloroquine and move me to Methotrexate, Jenny was my specialist for 10 years, it was good enough for me all those years, i'm sticking with Jenny as she knew what worked for me and my lifestyle, I have now refused their offer 3 times, yes not pain free but it does work for me.

I imagine if it takes us 12 weeks to build the MTX up in our systems it's still there a bit now @pianoforte so might need more time to know one way or another if you need it.
I would also speak to Rheumatology when you can.
Be interested to see how you get on without.
Best of luck
