Pain relief when opioids don’t work
Hi all, for years I was prescribed co-codamol for the pain in my knees. Whilst in hospital for another reason they refused to give me any painkillers but I discovered I felt no different without them as with them so I didn’t bother anymore. Then, when I had a TKR they could not manage my pain even with morphine. So it appears that I am ‘immune’ to opioids. My doctors have just said there’s nothing they can do but I have arthritis in virtually every joint and am in so much pain all the time that I’m beside myself. Has anyone been prescribed anything else that helps. I was referred to the pain clinic about 9 months ago but still heard nothing, they just say there’s a long waiting list.

Morning @NumOfTheAbove and welcome to the online community.
Sorry to hear your concerns about being immune to opioids.
I personally would ask for a second opinion as there should be an alterative available to you.
The following link maybe of interest……
I am sure others with similar or same problem will connect with you soon.
Best wishes @Naomi33
