My aching feet ...

Can any one help please? Still or moving my feet are so hurting me. The surgery asked if I'd always had these feet ...! I had anti-inflammatories prescribed and top them up with paracetamol but the pain is constant. I also have osteo-arthritis elsewhere in my body which is easier to cope with. It's making me so unhappy. Any advice/suggestions please?

    Hi @penpenn

I can sympathise with the foot pain. Have you looked at our website? This may be of help:

Also, try searching for foot pain in our community by using the magnifying glass at the top of the screen. A lot of our community members have had similar experiences.

    Hi @penpenn

I am so sorry you are struggling with your feet so much.

Have you tried either heat or cold? A warm weatbag that you microwave or rolling a bottle of frozen water under your feet. It's not a permanent fix but might be soothing short term.

Did the surgeon suggest any surgery might help?

Finally it might be worth speaking to your GP for stronger pain relief.

    Take care

    Hello PenPenn,

Dose it feel like you're walking on stones?

Hey - not sure if this helps as we are all very individual but I bought a foot spa from Argos

it’s a bit gimmicky but I found it quite comforting to watch the telly with etc

    Anyway I hope that helps

Bathing them in a bowl of warm water and a couple of handfuls of epsom salt or magnesium flakes/salt , or a mix of both, helps. I know they are both magnesium but epsom comes from rock and is not easily absorbed by the skin whereas magnesium salt comes from the dead sea, it is absorbed by the skin but only as much as is needed.

Before my hip replacements I bought both by the sack and soaked in the bath to ease the pain.

Please check first before using essential oils by doing a patch test on your arm as some people are allergic or sensitive to certain oils.

Spike Lavender oil used neat and massaged in helps too, as does olbas oil which is very comforting due to the warming effect. The ingredients are known to help arthritis pain, it used to be written in the leaflet but I haven't bought it recently so I don't know if it is still there.
