I gave been waiting months for an appointment at a consultants. He diagnosed me with RA and prescribed Methotrexate. That is 2 weeks ago but I haven't heard anything from my doctor yet. I am using a cane because my right knee is bad and frightened it will go into my left knee then I wont be able to walk. I haven't been out the house for months hardly because of pain in my joints and fatigue. After a steroid injection I feel so much better, can now go shopping Ect. Want to stop the spread but not keen on the drug. I have COPD and asthma so use two inhalers. On Omeprazone twice a day prescribed by doctors

I cant avoid these. What can I do

Hello @JennyWard and welcome to the Community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well.

Hopefully others will share their experiences with you, but none of us are medically trained so I suggest you take the lead from your GP/Consultant. That said I've put a couple of links in below which I hope are of use.

Methotrexate | Side-effects, uses, time to work

Your questions on methotrexate | Side effects

I hope things go well and please keep posting to let us know how you are getting on.

    Best wishes

    Peter

You can only keep checking in with your GP to see if they've heard from your rheumatology team and if they ahven't ring the secretary of the rheumatologist to chase the letter. Until the GP has authority from them they can't prescribe it to you sadly.

    Take care @JennyWard
