Low back pain and awful knee pain

Hi I have been suffering with sciatica symptoms for two months, and awful knee pain. My GP seems to think that the low back isn’t causing knee pain. What is confusing is that when the low back pain eases off so do the knees .

    Hello @foreverhopeful123

    Welcome to the forum.

    Everyone is different so what works for one won't work for someone else and vice a versa. There is some information from the VA website here:

    The best people to speak to about managing your pain and treating the condition are your rheumy team/GP.

    best Joanne

    I have had knee pain for 6 months which I assumed it was sciatica type as lower back pain is also present. My spine consultant looked at the mri image and said it wasn’t coming from my back. He has now referred me onto another Orthopaedic consultant. Have anyone on hear had knee pain which has been referred from the hip.

    @Paulette

    Yes I had knee pain for a few years which was gradually getting worse. An x-ray showed mild osteoarthritis in my knee. Fast forward to last year after having x-rays for knee and hips I was told that I needed both hips replacing and the knee pain was deferred pain from my hip. However everybody has different symptoms but it is good that you have now been referred on to an Orthopaedic consultant and hopefully you will be diagnosed and given treatment. Please let us know how you get on. Take care.🙂
