    Morning @anxioussarah personally I would contact the nurse and ask for more assistance.

    I recall my friends wound being sealed up and secure after her operation so unsure why you are leaking ???

    She had replacement waterproof plasters for renewal after showers if required.

    I am sure others will connect with you soon who know more.

    Best wishes @Naomi33

    I had my staples removed at 10 days during which there was still a bit of weeping from the wound and from a staple that didn't want to come out. The practice nurse cleaned and redressed and told me to call her if it got worse or didn't heal. A week later when I removed the dressing it was almost clear, just a tiny spot of weeping so I put a small plaster on this and left the rest to the fresh air. Continued to use my wet wipes to clean it until I was able to get into the shower at my sons house (I only have a shower over bath and couldn't get into the bath) which was up three flights of stairs a week later.

    @anxioussarah

    I had my staples removed after about 13 days and because the wound was not fully closed had sutures put in and covered with a light dressing and told to keep it dry for a few more days. After about 4 days I took the dressing off and there was a slight fluid leakage ( clear fluid ) so I went back to the hospital and was told I had fluid build up and was given a course of anti-biotics for 7 days. The following week it was checked and was all clear and was told that I could finally have a shower, thank goodness!

    It is worrying at the time but the Hospital had been very helpful to me and dealt with my problem quickly and efficiently. Hopefully all will be good for you tomorrow.🙂

    @anxioussarah is it leaking at one end of your scar or in the middle? I had similar but just at one end. It didn't really heal up properly until I was off the bloodthinners but I did keep that section covered and tried to wear loose clothes over the top. I think my jeans had rubbed it in the days after having the dressing removed.

    When I had my six week follow up appointment with my consultant he was happy with it and confirmed that this did often happen but that it wasn't infected. In my case because it was at one end he says that is particularly common as the end stitches have a big knot and this can delay healing. If yours is infected, or in danger of becoming infected, I believe they will give you antibiotics .

    Definitely best to get advice and good that you're seeing a nurse tomorrow, hoping she will put your mind to rest.

    I’m getting my staples removed in a few days, which I can’t wait for because I’m sure most of the stinging I feel is coming from those, but be interesting to see how I am ‘leakage’ wise, lol. No obvious issues at the moment, but guess this is the next hurdle, 🤞xx
