I went dairy free after my son had listened to a study about it it really seemed to be helping. Now I know it really has because I went off the rails over Christmas and New Year and boy have I suffered. I actually had one day when I was so poorly I couldn't do anything for a few days. Lesson definitely learnt

I have arthritis in both my knees, I need a replacement in my left (so far) had steroid injections in both this week. Have to lose 4 stone to get BMI down for the operation and doc has recommended low carb? Any thoughts? Thank you

Try to increase your protein intake and your body will automatically switch to burning any existing fats that you have. Carbohydrate intake tens to stop our body burning off what we already have as excess. I've lost a stone so far doing this. As a snack I have cooked chicken breast and baby bels in my fridge and allow myself 2 baby bels and a few slices of chicken to appease my appetite, chew lots and eat slowly and you'll realise you are more full this way.

    I hope that helps.
