Osteoarthritis in knees
Hi all newbie here I've had osteoarthritis in my knees for a good few years now, but 4 weeks ago I had pain in the back of my left knee that just wouldn't go away, then last week all the pain moved to the front of my knee, i went to the hospital saturday just gone and i was told that all the pain is caused by it been bone on bone, no matter what pain relief I'm on it don't do a thing and I can't walk very well now either. Sorry for long story just wanted to know if anyone else having same problem at the moment. Dave

Yes I have pain in the back of my knee and it is quite common. Mine is not helped by having a bakers cyst too, which is also common with OA.
Exercise helps a bit with the pain and there are videos on this site that show you how to exercise the knees to keep them moving and strengthen the muscles. There is also info on other things that help.

Hello @Millo71
Welcome to the forum.
Here is some information from the main VA website that will help :
Are you taking 'over the counter painkillers' or something that your GP has written a prescription for (ie something stronger). ? I know its difficult to get a GP appointment these days but worth the bother if you can get some pain relief.
Best Joanne
