I have knee and hip osteoarthritis I am 48 and had it for about 10 years now. The past 5 or so years it has got extremely worse. Now I'm at point where I do need sticks to walk. And use a lot of aids around the house. Hopefully getting walk in shower installed at end of this month. Currently I'm on co codamol for pain. Also pain patches, ibuprofen gel and take pregablin for nerve pain in my feet. My hip gives way when I walk too much. And my knee get inflamed badly with my legs and ankles I find. But pain is excruciating where I find it hard to walk most of the time. I do a cleaning part time job 2 hours a day 5 days a week. But does anyone know is there anything else I can do for pain as its getting hard to cope with

Hi @scotbabedonna I'm also 48 with knee arthritis. I find using knee braces and compression sleeves help with pain and stability. I also use hot water bottles and ice packs. It's worth getting a good quality knee brace, more expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for. Hope this helps

  • I will look into getting a knee brace thanks. I have compression socks which I haven't tried yet
