Hey there
Without knowing anything about your situation I will just say that when I first had my diagnosis I had carpal tunnel in both hands/wrists and was really struggling to walk - especially after being sedentary.
The reason I’m telling you this is because nearly 12 months later I am in a much much better position.
So there is help and you will be ok. It’s going to be a process, but just keep talking to your Rheumatology Team. I have found the Rheumatology Advice Line really helpful for questions and support - I believe most hospitals provide one - but not sure.
Things will get better1 -
Does the Carpal tunnel feeling go away?

Hi @CathyRA
I don't have carpal tunnel or RA in my knees but I have hand and wrist problems, one total hip replacement last year and the other side is on its way out.
Both my hand surgeon and hand physio said that when it does, I should ask for Gutter Crutches rather than elbow crutches. Not sure if you use crutches but but might be worth trying gutter ones as you don't weight bear on your hands or wrists.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I’ve been on Methotrexate for 6 weeks. My hands and legs don’t seem to be improving.
They seem to have peaked at 40 percent0 -
Hi @CathyRA I also have carpal tunnel amongst other things. I wear splints at night when things are really bad it helps. The tingle and pain is prevented by my wrists being in a better (not bent) position.
MTX tends to take nearer 12 weeks to work - what dose are you on?
