Hi, I have joined because I have severe arthritis - everywhere, plus MS. I need a hip replacement but so far they haven't wanted to do it, not because it isn't obvious it's needed (my right leg is now over 1 inch shorter than my left and the pain is terrible,) but they seem reluctant to operate because of the MS and because I have had spinal surgery, although that was over 20 years ago.

I am realising that I will need all your helpful comments and support as I worsen - the future really worries me because I'm a pensioner already and don't know how much longer I'll be able to cope.

Wow, sorry for the downbeat intro.

Hi @SeasideAnne nice to meet you.

I think if you need surgery you should push for it. Is there an MS forum at all who might be able to give an opinion about any extra precautions when you have MS?

It's not on being left like this. My daughter had similar issues when she had her shoulder replaced at 19 the fact that she has epilepsy did scare 'them' a bit. In case the popped the new joint out during a seizure.

    Best of luck

    Toni x
